Pre-1990 and even now, many washer manufacturers painted stainless steel washers. Over time, this made for an unpleasing aesthetic apperance if not cared for. In the end, stainless steel washers are the Best method of construction and can have an endless lifespan that will also offer a much better resale value than a poly or fiberglass washer. AIS purchased a system that was presumably late 80’s or early 90’s and gave it quite the renovation. This is a great example of when we say “trust us, save $150,000 and it will look like new”.
